Kalejdohill is a pre-housing project that develops the place long before the new houses around Kvarnbacken are being built. The purpose is to create a meeting place both for and together with the locals in Järfälla, where dialogs can be raised and ideas made in to reality. As the name suggests, this meeting place is meant to be like a kaleidoscope – shifting, flexible, interesting and colourful. Inhabitant Zero is a call for proposals for a research residency. Could you be the first inhabitant of Kalejdohill? An international jury will select 5 proposals, each for a month-long residency in the Yellow House of Kalejdohill. Kalejdohill imagines a society where the citizens are inquisitive, involved and pro-active in the making of the places where they live. Therefore, we are inviting individuals or teams to come and stay for a month in the Yellow House on a hill in central Jakobsberg, as a way of introducing the idea of an involved citizen in the post-welfare state landscape of Sweden. For the duration of the residency, the resident or team of residents, will be asked to produce a study, a diary, an investigation or something the organizers haven't thought of. What it is like to live in a foreign country, in a development before it is developed? Inhabitant Zero is open to graduates and professionals from the fields of Urbanism, Fine Art, Design, Architecture, Sociology, Migration Politics, Archaeology, and any other background you may find relevant. They are looking for curious individuals or groups interested in how the world works.

Each year, the Kemper Museum invites several exhibiting artists to participate as visiting artists. Each artist’s visit is different, and is defined by the artist’s process or media. Typical residency workshops involve groups scheduled for two-hour blocks of time during the three days prior to the artist’s opening exhibition at the Museum. For young audiences in particular, the quality, event-based character, and topicality of contemporary art productions by international artists have the capacity to set in motion both individual educational processes and socially relevant reflections. What fundamental changes to established art education practices are needed to tap into this potential? With this question in mind, fellows selected by an expert jury will examine the potentialities of contemporary art for and with young audiences. The KinderKunstLabor is a learning institution. Experiences and insights from educational processes are applied to the realm of art education and curating in a certification centre developed specifically for this purpose in cooperation with a university network. This is achieved with the RiR through an examination of current discourses and practices that are focused on phenomenological approaches, spatial aspects in art production, curating and art education for and with children. Closely intertwined with this, fellows will conceive and implement qualitatively based research projects that accompany ongoing projects of the KinderKunstLabor. The fellowship offers researchers from the EU active in the fields of contemporary art, curating, and education the opportunity to live and work in St. Pölten for a period of nine months with possible extension. The centre invites researchers with different artistic and theoretical practices to apply. Artistic expertise or experience with aesthetic processes and in-depth knowledge of the art field are a prerequisite. A sound command of the German language is essential. The fellowship is also aimed at students pursuing a doctorate or PhD. Priority will be given to research proposals developed in relation to and in dialogue with the specific, on-the-ground realities of the location. Fellows will have access to institutional infrastructures and are expected to present their findings at an event at the end of their stay.
KINONO Tinos Art Gathering is a multi-dimensional cultural organization based in Tinos since 2016. KINONO organizes site-specific activities, processes, artistic productions, workshops, interactive tours not only in the natural and cultural environment of the island but in selected buildings of historical or architectural significance as well. Its aim is for participants from the fields of science, art and culture in general, to come in contact with the island and thus through meeting with a diverse audience to create original works and actively engage with the local community and the natural environment of the island. With reference to the natural and cultural landscape of Tinos, participants interact with each other by communicating their work, creating synergy-collaboration communities and at the same time facilitating visitor and resident interaction by building a platform for developing creative and educational relationships. After four years of continuous presence on the island of Tinos, Κinono introduces this year’s Thematic Series of “Four (plus one) elements”, which will last for a whole year, through four different seasons, until the fall of 2020. Κinono borrows the four elements of earth, fire, water and air and adds the element of time, on two tokens, one as the alternating seasons of the year and two as the season of human intervention on natural and cultural landscapes. This way it wishes to draw the attention of artists, scientists, philosophers and researchers to the dual passing of time and to the particular atmosphere and characteristics of the island of Tinos. The theme of 4+1 elements is a proposal which aims to integrate the landscape itself to our concept of space, time, energy. The 4+1 elements project will delve into the relationships between the modern interdisciplinary scientific practices of visual arts, research, humane sciences, and new media, time and place expression through the islands material environments. Those environments vary: constructed or natural, both interior and exterior, urban and agricultural, material and immaterial as well as comprise by a complex of places, historical buildings, natural landscapes. It is a project that aims at researching and absorbing both the landscape-nature-time in our concept for time and space, material and tradition, matter, energy, natural resources and the environment with activities, processes and narrations coming from experimental, imaginative, descriptive ways for creating an environment. ⚠️ Due to the expansion of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Four -plus one- Elements thematic residency program cannot be implemented in May 2021, maintaining the character and the scope for which it was built. In an effort to maintain the collective character and the social / environmental direction of the program, as well as to facilitate production planning, the Four-plus one- Elements residency program will take place in May 2022, in five landmarks of the island. Therefore, the open call deadline is postponed until 31 July 2021.
Opened in 2014, Kinosaki International Arts Center (KIAC) is a cultural facility built from a renovated conference hall that wasn’t used anymore. Over the years, the town of Kinosaki has hosted and celebrated many writers and artists whose works have then been shared with the rest of the world. KIAC was opened in order to carry on this tradition into the future. Since 2014, many artists have stayed at KIAC to create pieces of work that have then been spread both throughout Japan and overseas. The missions of KIAC are to support creative and promising artists, to collaborate along with Japanese and international theaters and festivals in order to become a place where works intended to be shared both on a national and on an international scale are co-produced, and to create opportunities for artists, local residents and tourists to exchange and create together. KIAC offers an Artist-In-Residence program for artists and companies selected once a year through an audition process. At KIAC, artists get to create in a nature-filled environment. Thanks to that, they can fully concentrate on their creative activities. The projects should mainly be focused on modern performing arts but in addition to artistic activities and research, it is possible for art-related personalities to hold events such as lectures and symposiums. The projects or activities must have the potential to be shared, they must be innovative and suggest new ideas that are expected to have an impact on artistic expression in the future and it is better if they involve multiple countries and languages.

Open Call : Sonic Awareness Kintai Arts & Music Information Center Lithuania (Lithuania) in collaboration with ASTE (Latvia) and MoKS (Estonia) announce an open call for sound artists from the Baltic states or based in the Baltics to apply for a 2-weeks residency in Kintai, Lithuania, taking place on 11 - 27 August, 2025. The sound art focused residency program takes place in Kintai, a small town located on the shore of the Curonian Lagoon in western Lithuania. It focuses on site-specific sonic research and invites three artists to create works that relate to and reflect on this unique location. In her seminal text “On Sonic Meditation” American composer Pauline Oliveiros describes sonic awareness, a theory based on two modes of human information processing – attention and awareness. Awareness is global, non-linear, it registers sensory, imagined and remembered information, while attention is focal, occupied with singular or sequential and linear material. “Awareness can be expanded until it seems all-inclusive. Attention can intensify awareness. Awareness can support attention. There is attention to awareness; there is awareness of attention”. Intrinsically introspective, sound builds awareness and reveals the invisible. Kintai.Kitaip art residency program invites sound practitioners to openly explore and interpret the ways of activating sonic awareness within a distinctive environment. It encourages participants to engage with its unique acoustic ecology, intertwining it with their personal artistic approach to sound-making. The resulting sound pieces will be presented at two public end-of-residency events in Kintai and Vilnius. In autumn 2025 artists will be invited to perform the pieces in Latvia and Estonia. Additionally, the works will be digitally released on the Music Information Centre Lithuania label.
