Artist Residency TEMI is a residency space for visual artists established on the former site of Temi Library by the Daejeon Metropolitan Government to revitalize its original downtown area through culture and arts. Based on today's keyword of convergence, Artist Residency TEMI will support its artists in engaging in creative activities, transcending various genres through its programs that combine local features and arts. By combining Daejeon's science infrastructure with arts, Artist Residency TEMI attempts to develop and manage distinctively specialized programs. It aims to be a special residency where artists can devote themselves to creation and further their individual skills. Through these efforts, it aspires to present an open platform and hub for not only its local citizens and artists but also people in other cities and around the world, through intercity communication, becoming a model for a new kind of creative space for domestic and global arts circles.

Created in 2011 in Clermont-Ferrand, Artistes en résidence (A·R) is a non-profit organization that supports contemporary creation by organizing residencies for artists and researchers in the field of contemporary art. They support the international mobility of artists and the circulation of ideas and skills through the development of a vast network of local, national, and international partners. At A·R, residencies are considered as a time entirely dedicated to research and experimentation with no obligation to produce. The goal is to provide artists with the necessary time for qualitative and in-depth research, to promote a true immersion in the residency context, and to allow for trial and error as well as critical questioning necessary for the development of artistic practices. Inaugurated in 2020, the 100-day residency program aims at welcoming artists and researchers of all ages and nationalities to Clermont-Ferrand for a period of 100 days. Selected artists are free to organize their residency as suited to their availability, whether it be over 100 consecutive days or dispersed over the course of one year. This flexibility takes into consideration the varied realities of artists and allows time for reflection, research, and experimentation compatible with the artists’ professional and private obligations.

The Artists in Residence programme takes place at St. Andrew’s Castle (Szent András Kastély) in Hungary. In the middle of Europe, yet at the end of the world. Surrounded by a park forest, two lakes and streams, fruit trees, plane trees and elm trees, we find the castle and chapel, which are under national monument protection, as well as the newly built guesthouses and wellness department. Historically, castles functioned as cultural nodes – spaces of continuity, exchange and transformation. Artists moved between estates, influencing one another and shaping local and international cultural networks. Today, while castles no longer hold political power, they remain sites where architecture, landscape and art converge, carrying the values of the past while creating space for the future. St. Andrew’s Castle continues this tradition by offering a setting dedicated to artistic focus, reflection and dialogue. The residency programme was founded in 2015 together with Austrian-born painter Manfred Makra, who serves as Artistic Director and Curator. As part of the Artists in Residence programme, held annually at St. Andrew's Castle since 2015, four painters are invited to spend one month as guests of the Castle. The residency provides a private space suitable for focused artistic work, along with accommodation and full board, complemented by opportunities to discover the region and its cultural context. The programme begins each year on the Saturday closest to April 24, as part of the St. George’s Day Picnic, when selected smaller works brought by the artists are presented to the public. Since 2019, the guiding theme of the residency has been: “The Space of Change”. At the end of the month-long programme, on the last weekend of May, an exhibition of the works created during the residency is organised at the Castle. The exhibition is opened by an art historian. The programme also includes a symposium under the same title, bringing together Hungarian and international experts to reflect on natural balance, sustainable living, and the role of art in shaping contemporary consciousness.

Artémed, a cultural association based in Paris, chose “Parisian residences” as the theme of their 2023 residency. It is intended for visual artists of Mediterranean nationality, in order to question the notion of “world cities” and “city refuges”. The big cities of the world are a melting pot of human thought, activities and achievements. They are a place of meetings and crossroads where great opportunities for human, social, societal, architectural, urban, artistic and cultural achievements can be found. Like those of Paris or the Mediterranean basin, they open doors to all foreigners from different horizons and to experiences of all kinds. They are the place of the greatest professional or other opportunities and bring together all kinds of human enterprises, small or large. They thus attract the inhabitants of neighbouring or provincial regions and other countries, in search of an “elsewhere” full of promise. These large cities are also "city-of-refuge" for intellectuals, artists, political opponents, people from other countries or cities, fleeing conflicts, who are looking for certain security, and planning short or long stays there, in a peaceful and reassuring environment.
