Lugar a dudas residency program offers opportunities to explore and examine different forms and formats of interaction which will provide collaboration material between individuals, disciplines, and subjectivities, as a starting point for art practice, critical thinking and social agency. The main goal of the program is to integrate the resident’s experiences to Cali’s own cultural network, through the activities that take place at lugar a dudas and the relationship of the residents with local cultural agents. The program stimulates collaborative practices, research process, and movement across disciplines and wisdoms that contribute to thought production, experimentation and complexity.
Briefly put, the LungA School is an independent, artist-led institution and situation where it is experimented with artistic practice as a way of doing, thinking and being in order to cultivate, disturb, distort and transform our notions of aesthetics, learning and perception. The LungA School currently has two different programs. They exist separately, simultaneously and function as each other’s support and constant interruption. When they talk about programs the organizers are referring to those frames into which they make the initial invitation, and to which the artist can apply. This invitation is a starting point and the way that the programs then unfold and how the relation and boundaries between the programs develop, is constantly moving. 84 — A composition for untrained voices : \'84\' is 84 days. The twelve week program \'84\' is where it all started and this is open for everyone to apply. It takes place two times a year, in the fall and in the spring. The program '84' moves through different stages. These are characterized by a difference in language, a difference in content and a difference in focus, but also by a similarity which allows for several cycles to occur during the program and several opportunities to revisit an idea or a medium in order to experience the changes in perception that occurs over time. The stages occur chronologically, but are overlapping and seamlessly woven together so that the journey through them becomes one continous movement. Whether you have a background in art, or wish to pursue further education within this, is not important. It is important that you have a desire to learn and explore, and an openness towards surprises and challenges. Residency: The residency program is a twelve-week program that exist alongside the program ’84’. The Residency invites artists to bring their work and practice into the LungA School, and into a situation where they exist alongside all the other activities that takes place, informing, influencing and disturbing these. The residency is curated by the LungA School and is currently by invitation only.
Maajaam is a farm for art and tech situated in South of Estonia. It is concentrated on researching of, experimenting with and reflecting on the relationships between people, technology and nature. Substituting the urban environment with a hilly rural landscape allows us to observe technology in it’s pure form. Mixing the past technological wonders of the historical farm with present day hi-tech offers us a shift in perspective. This perspective is projected through the prism of art. Maajaam is run by artists Timo Toots and Mari-Liis Rebane and their family. It is an artist residency, but also our home and studio. There is a space for Timo’s creative studio Masinism and Wild Bits exhibitions. Maajaam offers a way to live and work in Southern Estonian nature. We are welcoming artists, makers, scientists, writers, hackers, designers, film-makers, sound artists, musicians etc who want to get out of town and spend some focused time for themselves or their projects. We also run volunteer program for those who want to help out. They have hosted artist-in-residencies since 2013 on irregular schedule in their home environment. Starting from 2023 they are accepting residency requests all year around in the new residency house.

The Mahler and LeWitt Studios is established around the former studios of Anna Mahler and Sol LeWitt in Spoleto, Italy. The residency program provides a focussed and stimulating environment for artists, curators and writers to develop new ways of working in dialogue with peers and the unique cultural heritage of the region. The Torre Bonomo, a medieval tower once used as a residency and exhibition space by the gallerist Marilena Bonomo, is also central to the program. In the early 1970s, LeWitt was Torre’s first resident: using it as a studio he made a seminal group of wall drawings which continue to offer a unique insight into his production. Currently the Mahler & LeWitt Studios hosts three residency sessions per year – in spring, summer and autumn – each lasting up to six weeks. Residents are provided with accommodation and studio space and are usually offered travel funds, a per diem and a materials budget, as well as expert curatorial and production advice. Each session accommodates approximately five full-time residents and the sessions represent different nationalities, age groups, and levels of experience, ranging from recent graduates to established practitioners. For shorter residencies, for example, week-long workshops and symposiums, the organisers can host as many as twenty residents. Each session has a unique dynamic and the diversity of a group is an important and inspiring aspect of the program. The organisers pride themselves in producing a program which is tailored to an individual's needs and interests. The curatorial team work on a one-to-one basis with residents, facilitating research. Some artists join with specific projects and goals in mind, whilst most come with a more open-ended remit. When research is ongoing, the organisers often invite residents to return to Spoleto to participate in subsequent residencies and projects. Where relevant to their work, an engagement is encouraged with local histories of art and culture, or with local landscapes, and these interactions are facilitated via partnerships with local institutions. There are several libraries at the Mahler & LeWitt Studios as well as a music room, facilities for making ceramic and a range of tools for production. Throughout a session, the team organise meetings and excursions. At the end of each session, residents are asked to participate in an 'Open Studios' event, sharing work in progress with each other and the public. Presentations have taken the form of exhibitions, conversations, screenings, performances or workshops.
Main & Station began as a project to save a derelict building in the seaside community of Parrsboro, Nova Scotia. Although the building (an old post office, customs and armoury) is still undergoing some work, in June 2013 Main & Station re-opened the doors that had been closed 43 years earlier and it is now host to a secondhand bookshop, an art gallery, a café, workshops, seminars, community events and Artist residencies. In May 2017, Main & Station took on another heritage property at risk of demolition, a former United Church. The new space has been dubbed the "Nonesuch Centre for the Performing Arts & Studios" and is currently being used as studio spaces, for events and workshops. The former sanctuary of the building remains intact with seating and a working pipe organ. Main & Station also organizes and hosts the Nonesuch Art of Paper Awards and Exhibitions. Main & Station & the Nonesuch Residencies are 100% privately funded. The organziation does not apply for or receive government grants. The Nonesuch mission is to have fun and to encourage artistic activity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community involvement. Travel can be quite a stimulus to ideas and creativity. The residency program allows participants the opportunity to work creatively in one or more new environments. Support to the community is via arts programming, seminars, collaborations, small venue presentations, and partnerships. The residency program is open to artists of all types including writers, dancers, and musicians. They also offer a chef's residency and are open to residency applications from any discipline. In the past they have hosted visual and performance artists of many sorts as well as a few from other disciplines such as schooner builders, editors, historians, and geologists. The number of residents can vary from 1 to 10 depending on the time of year and the projects being engaged in.
The Daura Houses, a resource place for contemporary creation, privilege dialogue between practices, disciplines, identities and geographies. Since March 2005, they have been home to a centre for artistic research and innovation for all disciplines. Sheltered from the vicissitudes of city life, artists and researchers from different worlds develop new projects and elaborate forms that reflect the world in which we live. In touch with the social and agricultural, historical and landscape reality, they experiment and agitate the context to show it differently, analyze the issues at stake and tell us a little bit about each other, in the variety of our languages and our belongings. The Daura Houses are also a place of exchange with the inhabitants of the village and the valley. Every summer, the Contemporary Art Trail in the Lot Valley offers the presentation of works created during the spring residencies. It is part of the programme of the regional contemporary art network in connection with the Abattoirs, Frac Midi-Pyrénées. The achievements of the autumn residencies can open up partnerships with the cultural structures of the territory. For the spring, the selection of artists is carried out by the Maison des arts, which is joined by an associate curator. The aim is to implement a collective project in visual arts, sound, architecture, etc. whose productions will be presented for the Contemporary Art Trail in the Lot Valley that follows the residency. For the autumn, the residency is open to 4 young artists in partnership with the 4 art schools of the Occitanie region, to support the emergence of a regional art scene. It is up to the schools to nominate their alumni (N-5). At the same time, the Daura Houses receive 1 or 2 artists associated with international programs.

LABVERDE was created to strengthen the limits of art through a broad array of experiences, knowledge sets and cultural perspectives involving art, science, traditional knowledge and nature. The program main goal is to promote artistic creation through a constructive debate about environmental issues generated by both theory and life experiences in the Amazon rainforest. The program was developed in association with Manifesta Art and Culture and the National Institute for Amazonian Research. Designed by a multidisciplinary team of highly qualified specialists in arts, humanities, biology, ecology and natural science, LABVERDE aims to allow a deep understanding of the Amazon region and to promote collaborative and innovative art language. Exploring the Amazon rainforest, discovering the richness of its biodiversity and understanding its importance for the planet's ecological balance will foster an analytical and critical perspective of issues such as landscape interpretation, nature representation, and the role of art in engaging social-ecological behavior. 10 days sharing knowledge and practices in an intensive schedule of seminars, workshops, presentations, forest guided tours and boat trips will enhance participants’ creativity, having nature as a common ground. The program main goal is to allow the comprehension of one of the main natural areas of the planet in order to stimulate poetic and aesthetic experience and discourses. 2022/2023 they offer three different research trips: LABSonora : Focus on sound experimentation, field recording, soundscape and music. Speculative Ecologies : Focus on speculative thinking about possible solutions for the future of the Amazon and it inhabitants. Fungi Cosmology : Transdisciplinary research to disseminate the importance of the fungi kingdom.
