The mission of the Djerassi Resident Artists Program is to support and enhance the creativity of artists by providing uninterrupted time for work, reflection, and collegial interaction in a setting of great natural beauty, and to preserve the land on which the Program is situated. They strive to provide the best possible residency experience for artists of superior talent from a diverse range of backgrounds and geographical locations. The Residency Program is designed as a retreat experience to pursue personal creative work and share in collegial interaction within a small community of artists. It is unpaid with no practical training or educational components involved. In this spirit residents are expected to commit themselves for the entire residency session awarded to them.

Domestic Data Streamers started on the 22nd of September 2013 when a team of artists started working together on artistic experiments exploring the relationships between people and information. The principal ideas of what they did still remain the main drivers behind the studio. The team wanted to challenge the way we understand information today and how this can create profound change in the way we behave as humans. An experimental residency on data, music, writing and new media at the heart of Barcelona. Hey Human! is a nonprofit artists-in-residence program that provides time and space for inventors, artists and researchers to create, experiment, and cultivate new directions in their practice. A shared journey with the Domestic Data Streamers family to redefine the meaning behind the power of data using all kinds of arts. This program is designed to foster research and exploration rather than culminating in a final exhibition.

International Residencies is a Dos Mares program. The aim is to place the guest artist in an interrogation of the process of distancing, not only geographically but also conceptually, affectively and contextually. Each of the three phases that structure this system (research, immersion and deployment) allows us to test our relationship to time, to the modalities of transition from employment to work, the question of the value of research and that of production, the relationship to the fulfillment of the being, the articulation between the different social and private relational dimensions. The structure offers research residencies during which no production is expected, no public intervention imposed, no exhibition organized. This research is similar to what in the scientific field is called fundamental research, i.e. research that is not oriented towards a particular application, which in our field takes the form of a work. During several weekly meetings, of about 3 hours each, the permanent curators of Dos Mares, accompanied by occasional speakers, join the resident to develop an art research whose starting point is the work of the artist and his or her investigation project.
