OxMag accepts submissions through its online portal during reading periods, which are announced on its website and social media. Work should be previously unpublished, and simultaneous submissions are typically permitted with immediate notification upon acceptance elsewhere. Because the magazine has a strong interest in art and new media, writers are encouraged to submit text that engages with visual or digital culture, but all submissions should demonstrate careful attention to language and form. Reading periods can be competitive, so it is advisable to review recent issues to understand the editorial range before submitting.

We’re looking for prose, poetry, hybrid work, and art that bends genres, experiments with forms, and includes unusual, even bizarre, premises. We particularly enjoy work that makes daring comparisons, includes strange points-of-view, and that makes us unsure if we should laugh or cry
