a cobert is a place for artistic creation, production and research located in Moià (Barcelona) that supports artists through residencies, workshops, and critical thinking activities. Rooted in feminist and community-based values, the organisers aim to make art accessible and closely connected to everyday life, collaborating with local communities, schools and cultural organizations to strenghten the regional artistic and cultural ecosystem. The organisers are interested in emerging artists and experimental and critical practices, seeking to give them the space, resources, support and display to grow and keep on creating in a meaningful and ethical way. a cobert’s residency programme provides artists and researchers with the space, resources, and support needed to develop creative and research projects in a unique rural environment that fosters focus and experimentation. Beyond artistic production, the program emphasizes public engagement, community participation, and knowledge exchange, making contemporary art accessible to local audiences as well as promoting national and international circulation. The residences are aimed at artists and researchers over the age of 18, as well as groups of people in creative processes, from any field and artistic discipline: plastic arts, visual arts, performing arts, literature, cinema, performance, science and technology, gender studies, history, etc. They do not host musical projects due to their specificity. The residences are open to people of any nationality and language as well as without age limit or distinction of origin, current residence, gender, sexual orientation, etc. They work with small groups, with a simultaneous stay of between 2 and 4 people, to make coexistence between projects something non-distorting and to be able to offer the care, space and artistic advice that the projects require with quality and dedication.

The School of Arts, Design and Architecture at Aalto University is an internationally renowned institution of higher education in the fields of art, art education, architecture, design, film, television and scenography, media, graphic design and photography. Cooperation and interaction between all the different disciplines of the school challenge technology-driven thinking and put greater emphasis on a human and user-centred approach to the creative process. The school’s commitment to enhancing cross-disciplinary dialogue is also visible in its artist-in-residence programme, which is, notably, the first of its kind in the Nordic countries. The Aalto AiR programme benefits from the Aalto University community as a whole as well as from its location in Helsinki, the World Design Capital of 2012. Helsinki is a thriving city of culture that is currently undergoing an energising phase of creative regeneration in which local forms of self-governed activism are in seamless dialogue with global-level debates, networks and institutions. The programme builds on active partnerships with multiple actors in the Helsinki cultural scene: art museums, galleries, artists' collectives, art promotion organisations and other residence programmes, such as the Helsinki International Artist Programme (HIAP). Now in its third year, the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture Artist-in-Residence Programme provides dedicated and internationally active artists with a unique opportunity to work with a truly collaborative community of researchers, students and staff and to avail themselves of Aalto University’s resources for artistic and creative productions for a longer period of time.
