Since 1990, the C.A.C. Piramidon has been reinventing the concept of an art gallery. It is an art centre designed as a space for artists where both creativity and its diffusion converge as equals. Piramidon gives priority to the display and solvency of the artist's work, contributing to that end with the necessary stability for the artist's development. After passing a stringent selection process, the artists come to work at one of our center's 16 studios. In addition, two of the studios are designed to host artists who are residing outside of Barcelona, and in most cases artists from other countries.

PLAND , P ractice L iberating A rt through N ecessary D islocation, is a multi-disciplinary organization that supports the development of experimental and research-based projects through a variety of on and off-site programs. Headquartered off-the-grid near Tres Piedras, New Mexico, PLAND is a hands-on, exploratory approach to Do-It-Yourself, alternative living. Founded in 2009 by Erin Elder, Nina Elder, and Nancy Zastudil, PLAND finds its inspiration in a legacy of pioneers, entrepreneurs, homesteaders, artists, and other counterculturalists who — through both radical and mundane activities — reclaim and re-frame a land-based notion of the American Dream. PLAND brings artists, students, innovators, and others into a direct experience of limited natural resources via its rural, off-grid locale and minimal amenities. While producing open-ended experimental projects that facilitate sustainability, collaboration, and hyper-local engagement, PLAND is a constantly evolving outpost in the New Mexican high desert. Participants are encouraged to marry survival-based goals with big ideas and experimental methods through project-based residencies and work parties. Each of PLAND’s programs prioritizes direct experience of the grid or lack thereof, with all the challenges and surprises that might entail.

PLAYA supports innovative thinking through work in the arts, literature, natural sciences and other fields of creative inquiry and encourages dialogue between disciplines to bring positive change to the environment and the world. Away from the urgencies of daily life, residents can focus on their projects, immerse in a desert landscape of basin and rangeland, and find inspiration through self-directed inquiry. Located in the Oregon Outback, near Summer Lake in Lake County, PLAYA manages its Residency program and a range of community and educational outreach activities. Residencies are provided without a fee offering the gift of time and space to eligible applicants, and span two multi month sessions each year. In addition, they hope to bridge the dialogue between the arts and sciences through thematic place based programming, presentations, symposiums and workshops. The intention of all of the programming is to support creative individuals who are committed and passionate about their work, and who will benefit from time spent in PLAYA's inspirational remote location.

The Artist in Residence Program at Pond Farm is administered by Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods in partnership with California State Parks. The program welcomes artists working across a wide range of visual, literary, and performance-based disciplines, including interdisciplinary practices. Artists from diverse cultural backgrounds, lived experiences, and artistic perspectives are encouraged to apply. Situated within the Austin Creek State Recreation Area and adjacent to the iconic Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, the residency provides a unique opportunity for creative exploration in a rural, rustic setting. Removed from the demands and distractions of daily life, residents are invited to engage deeply with their practice while honoring the site’s historical and environmental significance. In addition to access to more than 6,000 acres of Austin Creek State Recreation Area, residents may explore the surrounding natural landscape, including Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, the Russian River, and the northern California coastal range. Each residency spans three weeks, with six sessions offered between May and September. October is reserved for a special international exchange in partnership with Kunststiftung Sachsen-Anhalt, a contemporary arts foundation based in Germany. Pond Farm was established as an artists’ community in the late 1940s and was home to internationally recognized studio potter Marguerite Wildenhain, who lived, worked, and taught there for more than forty years. After becoming the first female master potter and teaching ceramics in Germany and the Netherlands, Wildenhain emigrated to the United States to escape Nazi persecution, arriving at Pond Farm in 1942. Her work and pedagogy played a pivotal role in shaping the American Studio Pottery movement. To preserve the historic integrity of Pond Farm, certain limitations apply. Clay artists are not eligible to apply, as the historic barn does not support ceramic production; throwing wheels and kiln facilities are not available. The program is open only to artists who have not previously participated in the Pond Farm Artist in Residence program. Pets and overnight guests are not permitted. Guests must arrive in their own car (motor vehicle). Bicycles and alternative transport are not sufficient due to access and distance. The Pond Farm property is periodically open to the public for group and school tours. During these times, visitors may be present on the grounds; however, the interior of the residence remains private to the artist. Occasional visits by State Parks staff, maintenance personnel, or utility vendors may also occur.

This is an opportunity for artistic development and research, alone or together with other participants. Perhaps you want to go deeper with an existing project or idea, a vision or concept you want to share or introduce to others. Or you might be looking for inspiration to start something new. You might come with one intention and discover something else entirely – this happens often. Spending one or two weeks in a rural location and away from the distractions of day to day life, the residency offers a period of time to focus and connect with others. There is plenty of space to nurture the growth of ideas, to play around with them and experiment. Across our studios, library, garden and beautiful surroundings of the national park “Nationalpark Unteres Odertal”, canal, rivers and lakes, fields and forest there are a multitude of ways to interact with nature, and find ways of being in kinship with each other and the land.
Providing a place for artists to work on their own work, while ‘living like a monk’: the space provided is a museumlike mountain house formerly lived in by a Bulgarian priest and is such a social work of art that Jos Bregman, the organiser, started in 2008 and is running ever since. It is a personal artistic research into the heart of Europe. Europe, which, according to the organiser, is too often seen as Brussels and bureaucracy. He wondered, what is Europe to him? He bought the space and asked himself if he can be a good neighbour, even when he is not often around, living on the other end of Europe. He has established a relationship with the direct neighbours who adopted him when he is there. They do maintenance and he pays with machines they always seem to need. Since 2008 he has been visiting the location two to three times each year, and is thus a part-time neighbour. Ever since he has been inviting people to become other part-time neighbours, from somewhere in Europe, like him. Jos Bregman, a solo performer since 1996, wants to provide access to nature in a world where internet access is dominant. The house is a way to log in to nature as it is surrounded by mountains. It is also a way to log in to your own nature, you may very well experience some culture shock. Hardly anyone will speak English, for example.

The processes of publishing and editing since the emergence of social networks have brought a profound transformation in the established collective, encompassing academia, universities, and political organizations. In artistic practice, self-publishing emerges as a way to democratize other fields, processes, and questions that may not necessarily be reflected in the artwork, or that should be considered artwork themselves. Self-publishing collapses the authority of academia and its recognized collectives to circumvent the mandate of "publish or perish." PotentA____ Editorial Residency is launched as a space for collective collaboration and experimentation, primarily dedicated to spanish-speaking and spanglish content. The aim is to collectively explore alternative spatial possibilities within the editorial architecture, challenging the conventions of art circulation and its practices from the perspective of artistic practice and self-publishing.

The artistic community in Pragovka began to emerge at the turn of 2010 and 2011. By then the first artists began to move in an abandoned industrial area with their studios. Soon a lively artistic community emerged organically and started to organise first exhibitions and open studios. At the end of the year 2017, several local artists founded the Pragovka for Art association, which built on the ongoing activities of the community. The main driver of the art scene in Pragovka is Pragovka Gallery, which is run by the association. In addition to an international exhibition programme, it organises a residency programme for Czech and foreign artists, an educational programme, supports the art community in Pragovka and is behind successful events such as the popular ArtFér and the summer cinema. The pilot project of international residencies at Pragovka Gallery was launched in 2021. Since then, more than a dozen artists have taken up residencies in the studios, presenting their work in exhibitions and in Pragovka's public space.
Prainha artists residency is located right in front of the best beach in the southern state coast. The spot is particulary attractive to surfers. The area is quite well populated as the city is around 480 years old, so it is not a deserted or isolated beach. It is a city beach, but it is a very calm place in weekdays. During weekends many tourists come to enjoy the city. Their program normally lasts one month. The main purpose is to provide a comfortable place for artists to spend some time, socialize, lear new cultures, exchange and relax in an artistic atmosphere. The artists will have a private bedroom and share a big house with other artists and the residency curator.
